Croatia's Mad Cat

Image
We would have liked to spend another night in Montenegro, not because we were after another noisy sleepless night, but because we didn't want to do another night crossing. However, as we leave the coast of Montenegro behind, the wind picks up nicely and we make good progress leaving us with the following dilemma : to enter or not enter Cavtat Bay at night? Cavtat has to be our port of entry into Croatia and based on the reviews and stories we have heard about the country, you don't want to give them any opportunity to fine you. So we don't have a choice and can not sail any further until we have checked in. It is 11pm by the time we reach the outskirts of the village. It is dark. We could try to enter the bay and anchor or do a Med mooring on the immigration pier. Based on our past attempts at Med mooring, doing it in the middle of the night sounds like a recipe for disaster. Anchoring in the bay seems tricky based on the reviews and the space is meant to be limited. Finall
